IMU and RAI

If you were not already aware then the payment to RAI for the TV license will be collected in your July Electricity bill, with whichever service provider that you use.

If you do not own a television you cannot be excluded from the payment since any 'connection' to the internet or otherwise qualifies you, automatically, for the payment. In view of this automatic payment the charge has been reduced to €100.

And in addition, in the 'Legge di Stabilita 2016' the law of 'IUC' (l'imposta communale unica) has been modified from 1st January 2016 to make IMU (l'imposta municipale propria) and TASI (tributo per i servizi indivisibili) non payable for owners of 'prima casa'.

However, luxury properties (bands A1, A8 and A9) will still feel the full force of IUC which includes TARI.

And if this all sounds confusing then here is a quick review.  IUC for everyone. Luxury property owners pay full IUC. 'Prima casa' owners get relief from IMU and TASI but still have to pay TARI. Any second property owners still have to pay full IUC as well.
